I found this growing in the planter in front of my home ,about four years ago. it had not ben there the previous six years . no matter what I do I cant kill it. it grows back when Ive dug it out. So, since it looks nice ,wants to grow in my front yard and nothing seams to bother it maybe it shoul stay but, what is it and what amI in for if I allow it to remain? I live in Chico ,Ca . Any help will be greatly appreciated . Thanks!

Frostweed is right.

This is another one of those plants that people either tend to love or despise. They can be invasive and reseed everywhere, but if you like it, just be careful that it doesn't go wild on you and come up everywhere.

The plant develops a big tuber-like root from which it comes back every year.
