Since I know I didn't plant it, I'm pulling the small sprouts, which pop up everywhere and grow at a weed rate. The leaves always catch my eye though for their form, and now I have this new identifier of the white-ish new growth from the center.

It's a species of lambsquarters, probably Chenopodium album.

also edible- but pull the plant when it starts getting tall or it'll have a pretty hardy root to deal with.
