they are alll over my sunflowers there are about 6 or 7 at a time

At first glance, I thought that these bees might be in the family Halictidae (mining/sweat bees - see http://tinyurl.com/kpxrpt for an example), but now I am not certain; I do not think that I have ever seen any that had such large heads in proportion to their bodies before. Perhaps someone else may have a better idea.
