I have tried planting many seeds, even entire pods, of redbud trees without success. Perhaps it was because I didn't follow the scarification process. They grow all around the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, but somehow my property doesn't have a one. I'm going to collect some seedpods and try again, both scarifying and boiling water (ouch) methods. Thanks for a most enjoyable article and pictures.
