Your articles remind me so much of my way of life when I was a child. I can remember some of the stuff Mamaw and Mother taught me as a child. What wild greens to pick what was poisonious and not. I didn't live in the mountains of KY but very close in a way. I think they were both raised in the way of people from that area cause when you talk about it I remember them doing much the same things.

Hello, Flowerfantasy,

I think you are right. It was just a way of life for them, and one that I think is important for us to remember, even if we can't do it in the same ways.

I am glad my stories bring back good memories for you, too. The way I have planted my flower gardens remind me every day of my own roots, so none of it is very far from my mind.

Hope your gardens grow well this year. Thank you for writing.

I know everytime I go to the veggie or flower garden I remember doing some of this stuff and I think OH My! my GM did this or Mother did that. LOL Lots of great memories.

It's sort of ingrained into us, isn't it?
