I went for a horseride last year and they were so thick in our the hay and pasture that it glittered green with 10,000 or 100,000.
I have decided to eliminate the plants they chew up. Gone are the variegated ampelopsis vine & calla aethiopica, I will never buy another sandcherry shrub, and I'm thinking of planting the yellow calla lily away from view and just for cut flowers.
I love June the best- before those buggers emerge in July.
They are usually in every shovelful of soil. I can't beat them so I've accepted it. They win.
