I have found them to be ridiculously easy to root from cuttings. Once a neighbor decided to get rid of one and he put it in his dumpster in November. I "fished" it out and took 6 or 7 stem cuttings, and every one of them rooted even though winter was coming on. I would move them in the garage if it was going to be cold. Rooting in water is a bad idea for reasons I won't go into here. Just strip the leaves off the bottom half of cuttings maybe 8 inches long and put them in a potting medium. Keep the medium damp but not sopping wet. Rooting hormone is optional; I NEVER use it. Keep in the shade. When new growth appears, you will know they have rooted and you can start exposing them to sun little by little. (Don't tug on them to see if they've rooted- you may break off new roots that are very tender.) It's fine to put maybe 5 cuttings in a 6 or 7 inch pot.
