Thank you for a very good article.
I have a Nikon Cool Pix 4500 which although old takes great pictures, however the rechargeable batteries are expensive here in England.
Luckily I have a great friend who owns a string of Camera shops; the remarkable thing is the camera addicts buy a really good camera, then as soon as the latest one come out, they trade it in for that, sometimes the "old" ones are a few months old!
He managed to get me a Cannon EOS 450D with an EF 18 by 55 lens for a fraction of the price of a new one, it was one month old and still had its original box and everything!
The customer who had bought it from my friends shop (new), did not seem worried about losing money on it, he just wanted the latest one!
I have read the manual most carefully, so I enclose my first attempts on a manual setting, of a Petunia in my wife's hanging basket!
I will also send another photo with my Nikon which is a point and shoot.
Kind Regards from a wet England.
