Ive got some banana trees planted around my house that are taking over. They take way too much maintenance, Im forever hacking off new babies...like every day. Its making a big mess, and I just want them gone. Any ideas how to kill them? Please don't say dig them up, I would need a front end loader to dig these up.

Chop them off and pour a little motor oil in their hearts.

Or much better, get someone else to dig them out. Advertise. Free Bananas. A little ad on a grocery store bulletin board. Or freebie newspaper, check cafe's and restaurants and newsstands

Thanks for the ideas. I dont want a lot of people around digging on my property. Id rather just kill them where they sit, chop them down and let whats left rot. Would Round Up work?

You would probably need a stump killer as they have huge underground root system and it would have to be systemic to get them all.
