Thanks for your informative article about the walking iris. I live in southwest Georgia and I have 2 pots of walking irisis. I leave them outside all year round. We had several bouts of very cold weather this past winter and it burnt part of the leaves(I tried to cover them with a sheet) but I cut off the burned leaves and the plants are thriving. It makes the babies like you said and they take root. I could share a few. The blossom on mine is like the one at the start of your article. I have seen a different variety planted at my veterinarians office.
