I have this Smithicodonia Heartland's Joy that I took a little leaf and stem off of and stuck in some potting mix just to see if it would root. It is doing the weirdest thing!. On the back of the leaf (the spine I guess you would say, along the main vein) there are plantlets growing up the spine! I don't know if they are growing in the mix but they are growing up the back of the leaf. I didn't know if that was common or not? I actually didn't even know if it would root but it is certainly doing something:)
Can't post a picture yet as my camera is not good enough for something that small. Hopefully I will have some plantlets to share on our next round robin.
