There is a rose bush in my mother's yard that came from a cutting off my grandmother's rose bush. My father, since deceased, swore his mother grew this rose bush from seed back when he was just a little boy, in the 1920s. I know every plant has seeds of some kind, but is this something that's possible,... likely,...probable? Dad had a pretty good memory, but I've just never heard of anyone growing a rose bush from seed.

There are seeds inside the rose hips.
It is certainly possible to grow open pollinated (non hybrid) roses from seed.

This is definitely a non-hybrid rose. I'm really impressed with my Grandma. And relieved that my Dad's memory was still intact.
