I've finally started to indulge my peony addiction, and found two Itoh peonies at a nursery today with bronze foliage- gourgeous. The label says Kopper Kettle, but not sure if it is. I bought it for the foliage as much for the blooms, since they're so short-lived in the garden.
I've only grown herbaceous peonies before and those have stayed green. Is this foliage change specific to a cultivar or the Itoh peonies in general? I hope it's not a nutrient deficiency. It is beautiful. Looks almost like a japanese maple in the fall.
I hope to post pics later today when I get home.
Anyone see this before? I'm a peony newbie, in terms of knowledge.
Thanks,
Joy
