Can anyone tell me how to get these things to grow tomatillos? The temp here in New Mexico is very warm...90-100. Lots and lots of flowers...My plants is very tall 2 feet at least! Huge. Thanks!
I grow tomatillos every year. Don't worry, you'll get plenty, it just takes awhile.
Two feet plants are only half grown, they'll be 4' before they're productive. Tomatillos love the heat, so just keep them watered, give them some support, and stand back. It seems like they bloom forever before setting on fruit, then the husks stay empty forever before the fruits grow big enough to fill them. But, they'll come through and you'll have lots of them.
My plants are 4 or 5 feet tall and loaded, but I haven't harvested a tomatillo yet - the husks are still empty. It'll probably be another month before I get some ripe ones.
