Living in an apartment has been a challenge as far as growing anything other than perenials and annuals in containers. But last week I had an email ad from Wayside Gardens about dwarf hydrangeas only being 1 - 2 feet high and wide at maturity. The Cityline Series they're called. Also they offered a new buddleia (butterfly bush) that only gets about 2 - 3 feet tall. Has anyone tried any of these dwarf shrubs in containers? My porches both get shade from the roof overhang but the bright indirect light. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I've not tried those plants but I grow Lots of plants indoors in containers. I mostly use miniatures and I create miniature gardens. You can buy miniatures from Mehaan's Miniatures and other places. Let me know if you need more info. I've uploaded one miniature garden image.

Hi kavitt, Thanks for answering. I love your pic! Is that serissa you used? Since posting this thread in July I found the tiny gardens forum here on DG and made use of the websites listed in the "sticky". I now have two mini gardens in containers and I'm collecting accessories for a 30" x 20" container on a stand with wheels to bring indoors in winter. I just received a hummingbird feeder w/ hummingbird and an acorn birdhouse from http://www.dollhouseminiatures.net. So cute! They are offering to DGer's a 10% discount on one order per person untill December 31, 2009. The coupon code is: TINYGARDENS. My phone is my only access to the internet and it won't upload pics only email them. If you would like to see my mini gardens send me a dmail and I'll send you my email address. Don't you just love designing mini gardens!
