I thought I would post what JMG photographs I have taken as I have walked some of the streets in two cities while I have been in Japan on this business trip. I have been in Fukuoka City, which is in Kyushu island, in southern Japan, and also in Fukui City and Mikuni City, more on an approximate parallel with Tokyo. I am frequently finding that the netting type trellis suspended from a nearby wall, or draped over a frame is used to support the vines. Other trellises seen being used are the small circular wire trellises and also one one occasion a plastic square shaped trellis as well as a simple teepee of bamboo in the container. You will see in the photos a variety of containers too. Enjoy!
