My next door neighbor has been offering me irises for years, and this year, I finaly took some. Since they were on the far side of their house, I have never seen them in bloom. I don't know what color they are or if they are siberian or bearded. My neighbor is blind, and hasn't gardened in years - this was her husband's passion before he passed away.
I just recently read that siberian irises are deer and rabbit resistant, and also grow in partial sun - I have all of these in the rear of my yard. Is there any way to tell if they are siberian or bearded when they are not in bloom? I moved them about a month ago, and they appear to be doing well.
If it turns out that they are bearded iris, can I still put them in partial sun?
