I'm not a knitter. I am completely knitting-challenged. My mom has tried to teach me for YEARS, I've tried other people helping me...anyway.
My husband owns "diced hose". They are a red and white plaid knee length sock, knitted in wool. They are very hard to find, they are worn with kilts. We have been trying to find someone knit them for the men in our living history unit.

Hopefully someone here can help you out, but if not, try going to http://www.etsy.com They have a feature called Alchemy where you can put out a proposal for what you're looking for and you'll get responses from people who can do it for you.
