Steve asked me that question and I said no because the arms are quite wide enough for any type of beverage and would not want my vodka tonic to fall through the cracks LOL! But that was part of the plan!

Yes he was more than happy to make a spot for one, but the arms are big. I sat in it last evening on the isle to try it out and there was plenty of space for my arms, hands and my vodka.
I did ask him to lower and round the back of it as it is a bit overpowering for my 5' statuture and he also must lower the stool. Then it will be complete.
