I am excited to report I had a wonderful visit with Eiji Nitasaka, Ph.D., who is Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology, Faculty of Sciences, Kyushu University this past weekend. During a tour of his laboratory facilities, he allowed me to look at his collection of ancient books showing many mutant forms of Japanese asagao flowers. I photographed just a fraction of what colored line drawings of the old strains of mutant asagao that the old books contained. What a dream to actually hold in my hands these documents and see the line drawings, I can't adequately describe the excitement - I am sure you can relate.
Dr. Nitasaka is a friendly person, and quite willing to share his knowledge by answering many questions I posed to him.
I am very happy my business trip brought me to Fukuoka City, Japan, and I had this marvelous opportunity to meet Dr. Nitasaka.
Enjoy the show!
Joseph
