I took 2 really cheap arbors & added some of the short wire fencing things & a few cheap things from the dollar store. (Had to paint them white.) I fastened them on with white weed eater string. Which I can't find now so I use 50 lb fishing line. Had to get my DS & GS to put them together. The important thing is to fasten them together at the top to steady the whole thing so that was why I really needed the guys help. Any way I call these my plant gazebos & have Clematis on them. Been working for several years. The arbors were $7. & I noticed them at Family Dollar for about $4. the other day. Now is the best time to get good buys on yard stuff. When you are challenged for space you can always go up. Sorry these pictures aren't better. If you want to see more just let me know.

I love your plant gazebos. Please do post more pictures. Guess I will have to think about some for my plants.

These cheap arbors come with plain cross bars about a foot apart. Not enough for vines to grasp. Filled the void between the bars with the wire fencing you put at the edge of your flower beds. Think they are 8 sections in each pkg. I separated them & tied them to the sides in between the cross bars. In this particular spot there was a big tree that died. After it was taken down I had a lot of logs which I turned cut side up & put small pots of Hibiscus with Swedish Ivy & Wandering Jew added. In front of the logs I have planted Day Lillies. In front of them I have small Mums, more Wandering Jew & Airplane or Spider plants. At the bottom of each arch I have a large pot with Clematis vines. Hope this picture helps with the making of the 'plant gazebo'.

The 'plant gazebo' on the left is one where I added more stuff. Think I got these on sale for 25 cents & thought they would add interest...after I painted them white & tied them on. The other gazebo shows more what they look like from a distance. More to come.

Thanks trickiwoo for the heads up and for the pictures.. They look great and I wouldn't have thought of looking at family dollar, or using the fence to give the plants something to grasp.. I'm lazy tho.. lol. I will just use zip ties if I come across some of these.. lol.. I have the perfect spot in my daughters flower bed.. Where everything is WHITE.. :-)

Thanks again for posting..

I got mine at Big Lots. But noticed them 40% off at Family Dollar last week. And, the fencing & doo-dads came from the Dollar Store on sale. Would love to see yours. Are they posted on DG? Or, can you post them here? My son added some flat hoses last year. Came from Big Lots & have 2 sides. One side is a soaker hose & the other sprays a fine mist. He ran them in & out of the cross bars up one side & over the top. On the opposite side he looped across & ran them back to the starting point. Just on one of the arbors but with the spray side facing in it waters everything inside the gazebo & anything sitting next to the area. Worked fine when I went on a trip to Canada last fall & he had to come over & water for me. He put a 4 outlet thing on the hydrant & with the flat hoses I could water 4 areas at a time. Didn't lose a thing while I was gone 2 weeks.
Let me know about your pictures. Love to see yours.

I don't know how to give a link to it but it's right at the top on strawbale gardening . It isn't a gazebo ,it's just the arbor frame . The only thing that makes it special , is, a friend gave me two tomato plants and I didn't have any place to put them . My garden was full . so I used it for a frame to tie my toms on .I set it in my depleted compost pile .digger

Oh boy, do I love those gazebos and using the soaker hose for watering is such a great idea. Guess I will have to spend more time at Big Lots now. They used to be called Pic & Save here but changed over to Big Lots a couple years ago. More time at Big Lots now and less time at 99 cents only stores.

Sami, check with Family Dollar stores now. Everything is 40% off.
And they had the arbors, fence pkgs. & garden decorations. I can't resist a bargain...may take me awhile to figure out why I needed it! Big Lots had the flat hoses again last spring but they go fast so check early next year. I usually hook 2 together & water 2 places off one of my 4 outlets. I can water 8 areas at once by doing this. Thanks for your compliments & let me know how it turns out for you.

Same thanks to you Digger. Fixing to go to strawbale & see your things now.

Those are so neat! We don't have Family Dollar here, but we do have Big Lots. I'll have to see if I can find any.

I've never seen a Family Dollar store here either and 40% off too! Who can resist a sale, surely not me. I'm waiting for sales all over now, so many stores are doing mark downs on summer things. Going to have to google and see if Family Dollar stores are in Ca. I think I'm missing out on a lot of things.

Yes, the name did come from "All Creatures Great & Small" from the book by James Herriot. I bought everything he has written & loved them all. If you haven't read them go to half price books or the library & read them. Great to take with you as there is a short story in each chapter. My Chihuahua is Tricki Woo. And, my 2nd Chi-chi is called Tink, short for Tinkerbelle. Didn't know that was P. Hilton's name for her Chi-chi when I named her. Tink sleeps on a folded towel in the drawer of my computer table each night when I'm on the computer & Tricki Woo sleeps on a towel on the footstool...but they're not spoiled!

Does he write? When James Herriot died I felt like I had lost a friend. My paper back books are limp from re-reading them.

Yes, he's a writer - I can't remember his name, but I went to a Farmer's Market, and he was there signing books. I bought one for my Mom & sent it to her for her birthday. I'll see if I can find his name.
