Ok, so I was in Lowes today to buy some soil and saw this incredibly beautiful palm that has already a pretty good size for a very reasonable price. But there was no tag on the palm and the salesperson wasn't sure, but thought it's a windmill palm. Knowing that Lowes sells also tropical palms as houseplants, I was afraid, the sales person didn't know exactly and I'd buy a palm that I cannot keep in the yard during winter (Zone 8a) I planted it immediately in the front yard, and compared it to the little windmill palm that I have in the backyard, and am a bit confused now, because the one I already have looks different, more compact.
Lowes had 2 of these palms and I would love to buy the other one also, but didn't before I couldn't figure out, if it really is winter hardy here.
Anyone here who can tell me, if this is a Windmill palm? And if not, what exactly it is?
