I once had many years ago a Platycodon (I think was grandiflorus) growing and blooming nicely for me for three years in a large container.
Then one winter it didn't return. I liked it very much because the flowers towered up on long stalks I think about 70-80cm.
I've never seen these tall ones again for sale over here. The ones I find for sale are all on short stalks, like from 10-15 cm. The flowers are beautiful of course but I like them so much better on tall stalks, looks more natural and less stiff. I bought three in the hope they eventually will grow taller perhaps next year?
The label simply says 'Platycodon' without a specie name. Do you think my hopes are false?
