I read in one place (a mystery story, actually) that if the seeds from pale hollyhocks are rigorously removed, it makes the bed keep a lot of dark hollyhocks. On the other hand, I think I've read that hollyhocks revert to the pale colors, even though the seeds are from the dark ones. Does anyone know the true story?
TIA
