I was out looking at my sad sad garden yesterday when I happen to spy something in the watermelon patch. I went on vacation and the person who was to water it didnt so I lost cukes, peas beans squashes peppers and all that is left is 3 squash, one sad looking lemon cuke that might not make it, one bean bush and watermelon that has taken over the bottom half of the garden.
So anyhoo I walk over there and lo and be hold I got not one but two Ripe watermelons and one or more on the way...
Billy and I will have them for desert tonight... I will get pictures and post.. (Camera was at work)
MissJestr - what a huge disappointment for you to come home from vacation to find your garden half dead!
Enjoy that watermelon - it certainly seems it was determined to survive, so you might want to save some seed from it - who knows, you might have a "drought resitant" variety in your future :)
