I am late reading your July 6th article (only a month late) but greatly enjoyed it. I use a Canon A720 IS -- point and shoot. It is bigger than some, but the batteries recharge and hold for a decent amount of time. On walks and travels it is light and takes good, if not excellent pictures and had sufficient manual adjustments that lighting etc. can be dealt with. I have enclosed a cholla blossom -- I take the camera onto the golf course with me. It is amazing how many wonderful plants courses have planted and that are growing naturally along the fairways.
