Not sure if anyone here keeps on the cycad species... I have not been too good at keeping up on things... but am trying to. Thought I'd pass along some newly described species (some still in the process of being described, too) so they don't sound like fake names in the future. It is amazing to me how many new species there are, compared to what there were just 6-7 years ago when i thought I had a fairly decent handle on what was what... and from what I understand, there are nearly a dozen or so more waiting to be included.
Anyway, this is one of my new favorite species, Dioon argenteum... a larger, flatter-leaf form that looks like Dioon purpusii only with amazingly fuzzy, silver leaves (and from a different locale in Mexico, too).
