I decided that I would like to grow some ornamental peppers in planters next year, and have spent the last few weeks lurking and reading the posts. I do grow some hot peppers, Jalapenos, and Habeneros. I like the Jalapenos, but grow the Habaneros for my brother. I have cooked with the habeneros a couple of times, but I am the only one here that can tolerate anything near hot so that has been limited. I was happy to learn about the Tobago Seasoning and Trinidad Perfume peppers since I do like the flavor of the Habeneros, but the heat is too much for the rest of the family. Now like I said I grow Habeneros for my brother who cooks and pickles with them, but I can never get him to eat even a little piece of one raw. I can't wait until next year when I pick a Trinidad Perfume and eat it like candy in front of him. I'm also thinking he needs to try some "ultra hots" so I think I'll try and get some seed and grow a couple for him since he firmly believes that the Habanero is as hot as they get.
So far I have purchsed seed from the following varieties: Black Pearl, Fish peppers, Chinese 5 color, Bolivian Rainbow, a purple variegated, Tobago Seasoning, Trinidad Perfume, and Brizilian Starfish.
I'll be watching for some "ultra hot" seed to grow for my brother.
Thanks for the informaton you all share so readily. Oh and the youtube videos are priceless!
