Hi, Just want to pass along a note to Dollie and others. My son is moving to Baltimore, Maryland from Killeen, Texas. He is in the USA Army and he is leaving on March 30. We will be packing his car, having 2 family reunions( just met his grandpa for the first time-long story),and I won't get to see him until maybe Thanksgiving this year. AND also our house is being remodeled at the same time by our son while he is here. We just got the yard all cleaned up due to Hurricane Ike while he was here.
I am not sure if flowerjunkie is still going since she lost alot of her plants to that hard freeze we had..

So I will not beable to come to the swap since my son is leaving to head north. If any of you are going to the ExTRU, I will be at that one if ya still want to trade with me. I will make a new trade list since I am not sure what lived after that hard freeze back in January that hit here...

Ill take a look in the morning to see what else I can get started.

Adding ****

Bananas
3 Rojo (Frog)
3 Gran nan (Frog)
3 Double dwarf mahoi (Frog)
Maybe adding more as I dig pups.

Adding*****
I will have some chicks that need a good home. I ordered several too many for my son's 4-H project thinking some my die. So far he is doing a really good job keeping them all alive! I will have 7 that need to go. They didn't come sexed so Im not sure what they are yet. If I can tell the sex by the time of the swap I will tell how many of each I have. They are suppose to be Blue Cochins but some may be black or splashed... They are just starting to get feathers so its hard to tell what color they could be. Please let me know if ya want these guys no trades needed.

On the seeds list.. how many seeds does everyone want? 5-10-20 or what? if you want more put down "AMAICG'' (as many as I can get) because some I have gazoodles of and some are few..lol..but will let everyone have a clue on how many you will be getting..

Im always happy with what ever amount of seed I get but I think it really depends on the seed. If its a seed large or rare, a few seeds is just fine. If its common and you have a gazoodle then 10-20+ seeds are fine. I think we are all a pretty easy going bunch and I for one am not going to be counting seeds in your pack lol! Dollie on the other hand (poke poke with a grin) you just never know :P
Now back to the vanilla bean... Did you start that from seed? If so was is easy/hard, have you gotten any fruit and is it hardy for you? Yes, I bought some seed (darn you)!! :)

Edited to say that I will be out of town till Tuesday. Im trying to find a way to bring the computer but if not, I'll be signing off till then :)

Yes I think so, I never collect them. They fall in all the flowerbeds underneath and I always get more than I need. So if you want them, shouldn't be a problem to get several. I will go out tomorrow and check to see if the seed have fallen if not I will try to collect some for you if you want them.

Shoot, I'm always full of crap.. oops I mean, I have a horse pasture next door so can get all I need..lol

I use a type of Horse spray on me that keeps skeeters and biting flies away..it also kills fire ants..I can spray this on me or my animals since it has citronella oil in it...

what is the horse spray? Pam..let me try to get ahold of Dollie, to see if or when she can make it..If she can't make it, I can come anytime...

This is what I found..

Making Your Own Natural Insect Repellent
Herbalist Debra Nuzzi-St. Claire suggests combining the following essential oils to make a natural insect repellent:

1/2 ounce citronella oil

1/4 ounce lavender oil

1/8 ounce pennyroyal oil

1/8 ounce tea tree oil

1/8 ounce jojoba oil

Do not use this blend undiluted on your skin. Follow these instructions for diluting:

To make an insect repellent oil that can be used on your body, add 16 ounces of jojoba or almond oil to the base oil mixture and blend thoroughly. For an insect repellent spray, add 16 ounces of vodka to the base oil mixture, pour into a spray bottle, and shake before using.

my question is...why VODKA..why not alcohol..hell it would BURN just as bad...lol lol

I found another thing about B6...if your lacking you will get ate alive but they never said how much to take...so I looked up B6..crap toooo much B6 will give you nerve damage...
so lets see...nerve damage-bugs..bugs-nerve damage...whats a girl to do...lol

Pam, Got you tagged. If I over looked anyone please LMK.

It seems we have several men interested in this RU. My son said I could borrow his travel trailer...sm. one bedroom, plus more room to sleep in the L.R. This travel trailer would be great for two married couples. I think Liz mentioned her husband, and Ken & Maggie may want to come over for the Forest Hill shopping trip.

Your also welcome to bring your travel traliers.

I think I'm up to date for this swap...
going to a plant swap next weekend in Florala...maybe I'll get some great stuff to grow out for March...woohoo...

Nadine..before we got a box truck we had a stock trailer converted to a plant trailer..we put full sheets of plywood on the sides and made shelves...they had hinges under the shelves and eye bolts on top with chains that was attached to the wall...that way you could lower the shelves down when you use the trailer for something else..we used a tarp for the top...oh if you do something like that for shelving..don't forget to use 1buys for an edging so your posts won't slide off...lol
