I was talking to a friend today about making a garden of "weird" plants for the enjoyment of my nieces & nephews and others. The space that I am envisioning is half sun and half shade, zone 3/4, about 10'x10' to 20'x20' (haven't decided yet), so there's good space.

Some of the plants that I'm thinking about so far are:

Harry Lauder's Walking Stick
Touch me nots (I'm going to experiment with a small home-made bog)
Gas Plant
Walking Onions
Green Wizard - Rudbeckia fulgida
Chocolate Mint (not so weird, but kinda cool)
Chinese Lanterns
Double Decker Echinacea
Globe Thistle
Cobweb Sempervivum
Red Mexican Hat
Blue Sprice Sedum
Angelina Sedum
Obedient Plant
Magic Lily
Praying Hands Hosta
Witch Hazel

What other ideas can I get? And how could i plan this the best possible way? I'm thinking about making a VERY windy path around & back & forth to make that half the fun, and then hide the destination... which will be a very special surprise! lol

I might also add a small pond, but haven't decided yet.
