Where can I buy cowpeas in the United States? I grew them and pigeon peas in the Bronx, NY where I had a garden. I have not been able to find a source since moving to Georgia. Also where can I buy pigeon peas to grow? Thanks.

Any feed 'n seed type place that has farmers supplies should have cowpeas in GA...lots of them. Southern States is what we have here in KY and my farm store has at least a dozen varieties each year...in big bags. I paid 2.50 for a half pound of Brown Crowders the other day. That seems to be the going price for most cultivars...they had Texas Cream, Mississippi Silver, Lady peas, Blackeye peas, Zipper peas. Check at the local co-op/farm store.

On line, Baker Creek and Seed Savers Exchange has a good variety. I don't know about pigeon peas.
