We had a Nesco round dehydrator that we inherited from my husband's mom and we've been using that the past few years. This last fall, it caught fire so we've been looking for a new one. I just bought a Nesco American Harvest FD-1010 Gardenmaster Food Dehydrator because the measurements indicated that we'd be able to use all the old trays from the old dehydrator in it. We just got it and they're too small for the new dehydrator. This is a fairly pricey dehydrator and I'm wondering if we should have gotten an Excalibur instead. Can you all give me some advice on what kind of dehydrator to get? We need to purchase it in the next couple of days because I can only can so much!

This is the one we bought:

If you all think the Excalibur is better, which one should I look for?

I hated to spend the money on the Nesco because money is so tight in our house right now but we were really counting on the trays being the same size.

Thanks for any help!
