Wow! I took a look at the photos of your Gramma's house and thought of all the houses I know that look just like it, all over the countryside in Ontario.

And I thought of my mom making jam and jelly, with a huge cheesecloth bag hanging over a huge galvanized tub, on a broomstick supported by two kitchen chair backs.

I always hated canned tomatoes, but can still smell the fragrance and feel the lovely tingle on my tongue of the fruit-juice sweetened stewed rhubarb we'd get as a treat in mid-winter.

You folks are giving me ideas . . .

Oh, yes, how could I forget the dripping cheesecloth, dripping purple juice one drop at a time.

Glad it brought back good memories for you, too, CC, and I still don't like canned tomatoes, but the scent of their cooking does stir up the memories.

Hope your ideas are all good ones.
Thanks for writing!
