I've been MIA - mostly just watching EVERYTHING I planted last winter die - even in full shade with water. The only survivors are the bower vines, the Thevetia and the two patio citrus.
Oh yeah - then my Dad lost his job and I had to scramble to get them on Social Security, VA and unemployment benefits, roll over their IRA, handle COBRA, and modify their mortgage. I was already working my way through my Mom's disability benefits application.
Oh yeah, and then we went on a road trip to Wyo over the 4th and on our way home I hit a deer at 80mph on I-25S out of Sheridan. So I've got serious van repair coming up.
Oh yeah - then two days after we returned from Wyo I had my fourth (and last) foot surgery. So I go out and water my few survivors in my wheelchair at dusk and otherwise lie on the couch watching movies while doped on Rx narcotics.
Oh yeah - then the in-laws came for a visit.
Oh yeah - and now the students are back so traffic in Tempe is hell. (Well, I'd think it was hell , If I could drive, that is).
It's been a rough summer, but I still get pleasure from seeing Chuck, my UPS man bound up to my door in his little brown shorts. I really love it when he needs a signature!
I've got the swap penciled in, but it is the day of the ASU-USC game, so I may leave early depending on game time.
Now you know the rest of the story . . . (I miss him).
