Ok, I have a new orchid plant. I belong to the Home Depot Gardening Club and every month or so they send coupons via e-mail. This month the coupon was for 50% off any orchid, so ... I had to go take a look! I don't know much about orchids although I do have about 2 dozen hanging around. All of mine came from the clearance table at Wal-Mart or the cheapie ones in little bags for $6.98 and $9.98 at Home Depot and many have lost their labels from the danged squirrels digging through the baskets and burying acorns, or pulling the moss out (to line their nests I suppose!) Last year I had a bunch of orchids hanging out in a tree in the corner of the backyard and one day found bits and pieces of plants strewn about the ground, some labels on the ground and some missing entirely (more squirrel decor?) One entire plant was even missing so one of those critters must have a very pretty nest with a blooming orchid in it!
Sorry, I'm rambling ... Anyhow, I bought this orchid at Home Depot today, original price was $19.99 but with my 50% off coupon I got it for $10. It had a generic little label stuck in the pot that just said orchid and some general care info. When I got it home and was re-potting I found another plastic label stuck way down inside the pot that says:
I know sometimes color varies with conditions as well as in photographs and my bloom looks more mauve than the bright pink shown in that photo, so was wondering if any of y'all know this orchid and can tell me if it is indeed what I have so I can label my plant correctly.
Thanks in advance for your help!
