I have been container growing Brugmansia that are doing nicely. In researching the proper care for this plant in the Charlotte NC area I find that I should be fertilizing at least twice per week with a balanced fertilizer (20-20-20). None of the nurseries or garden centers carry such fertilizers in my area. I have a neighbor who will be vacationing in th e Venice FL area next month and am looking for a source of a fertilizer and the name of the fertilizer that my neighbor can purchase while in the Venice area. Your help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Twicw a week seems a little excessive for a container grown Brug. You could end up burning it. Once a month seems more suitable.

royboy,
I don't know if you have had a chance to check out the brugmansia forum, but most of the growers there use Miracle Grow for tomatoes (18-18-21) twice a week. Tomatoes and Brugmansia are in the same family (Solanaceae) so it is no wonder that it works on both. Also most make up a foliar spray to use everyday on Brugmansia. I just started my brugs back on the foliar spray and the twice a week feedings now that the summer heat has gone down a bit and am getting some blooms again.

Royboy,

There is actually a water soluable fertilizer from Miracle-gro that is
exactly 20-20-20!! It's an all purpose fertilizer called " Nursery Select". It looks EXACTLY like the box for the general purpose but you have to look closely for the "Nursery Select" on the box. I rarely use miracle gro, but this is the only fertilizer from them that is totally balanced and works well! See the link below directly to the information page for Scott's Miracle-gro Nursery Select. You can search local retailers directly through there. If you can't get your hands on a box right away send me a dmail and let me know, I'd be happy to get it for you in 2 secs and send it to you right away! It's only a few bucks and by some chance the place I get it from sells it in the normal size small box for 5.99 but even better the 4 pack value size for 12.99!!!! It's a total steal of a deal! Let me k ow if u need any. See link below

good luck!!
