Do you happen to know the correct name of Autumn Crocus?
It blooms prior to leaves in the Fall. Its usually soft purple and I can't seem to find it anywhere to buy some. It does well in the Pacific Northwest of Canada. I am on the Queen Charlotte islands.

Check out one of my earlier articles. http://davesgarden.com/guides/articles/view/238/ and see if you find it there.

I got the name from a friend... Colchicum.
Also I got a hot tip on buying the corms from a Place in Alberta Canada, which works for me since I live in B.C. Botanus.com It came from Dahia in Calgary thru Daves Garden.
