What the heck is it? Note it has several "spikes" (for lack of a better word - can't think of it) of flowers per plant and the stalks are very purple... BTW - it's driving me CRAZY so if anyone knows, I'll love you forever!!
They are 4 to 5 feet tall... btw...

Looks like an amaranthus to me. I didn't know what one I had and had to send pieces of the flower and seeds to IA State University for identification.

Okay, I'm a little confused - why are there two threads with the same photo? Here's the other one:

I replied to the other one, and my guess is Amaranthus cruentus. There's a photo of A. cruentus for comparison in my reply - hope that helps!
