I wanted to tell you that I don't know exactly what your people were referring to by stones. What I would like to tell you is that years ago my dearly departed Aunt Jane who was very into herbs and natural remedies as well as being a reflexologist told me that stone root is a cure for hemorrhoids. If you take a heaping tsp of the gravelly looking stone root and boil for 5 minutes or so in 2 cups water then drink the "tea" it is almost miraculous. Thankfully I have only suffered with this very rarely but I keep the stone root on hand. It is not unpleasant tasting and works over night. If you drink it before bed you wake up and everything seems to be as it should be. At least this has been my experience as well as the friends with whom I have shared the information. I created an account here specifically to share this information with you. I don't know if that is what Callie May was suffering from or not. I have all kinds of herb books and believe in natural cures. I don't know where in the world my aunt heard about this one. I have never read it anywhere but it sure does seem to work.
Hello Bucky,
I am not sure, because it was so very long ago and no one is left to ask, but I thought 'stone' referred to the look of the root of the plant. I also am not sure of the specifics of Callie May's ailment. I was too young, and it took many years before I realized the value of what I had been taught. If I had it to do over again, I would have listened and learned more.
I appreciate your taking the time to create the account. There is much to be learned on Dave's Garden, and I'm sure you will benefit from being here. I also appreciate all the information you shared. I wish I could remember specifics about natural cures, but in a lot of instances, I can't.
Thank you, I really enjoyed hearing from you, and now that you are here, maybe we'll cross paths more often.
