I lived in North Carolina for a few years where it was fairly common to find persimmon trees growing in the wild. Here in western central Connecticut I have yet to see one growing wild. Is it a hardiness issue, or is there some other reason?

Wandy;
I know you wrote this many years ago, but if you are still around - I looked up the range of the common persimmon trees.

It goes as far north as Penn. It covers Kentucky and West Virginia - but even in West Virginia at the highest elevation it does not grow
