| Someone offered two chairs on freecycle, sight unseen. I finally got around to working on them this week. Here's the way they were when I picked them up. I thought oh my these are pretty bad. Click the image for an enlarged view.

| Beautiful! My uncle just gave me three chairs, two of which match yours. They are now a pale shade of pink called "Ballet Slipper". They are perfect on my T2T back porch, aka The Sanctuary. And so much more comfortable than you'd think! Where do you plan to put them and did you seal them in some way? |

| I didn't even think about sealing them, glad you mentioned it. Since they are so weathered I'll probably keep them in the sun room. I might put them on the deck but there are some rust holes on the bottom so I won't leave them out much. I'd love to have a glider too but the new ones are $200 and up. I do think these chairs are comfortable and they bring back so many memories. Juanita why don't you let us see a picture of yours, the color just sounds pretty. |

| Would you believe that my uncle has the glider that matches the third chair just rusting away under a big pear tree?! They have an imprint of a giant tulip on the back. My mom has laid claim to it, but I'm hoping I can trade her my new bench for that one. I just love the old stuff so much better! My uncle has two old family houses that we've been helping him redo, both chock full of goodies. No one else shares my love of T2T, so I've acquired some really beautiful things. Lol everyone thought the old barkcloth curtains were hideous until I hung them in my Sanctuary; now they love them! Just would like to tell yall thanks for the inspiration- not a day passes that I don't see something that I am awed by and fall in love with! Keep the posts coming! |

| For some reason husbands don't have the vision like we women do. I read on here all the time where DH's don't want to stop and pick up some great find or as my husband says "someone else's trash" Here is a chair I picked up just down the street. It was during the week that our city picks larger items so you can clean up. The chair was all wobbly and missing one piece of wood on the seat. I got DH to tighten it up and replace that piece of seat, I painted it and we just love it. It still has a lot of life left in it. Click the image for an enlarged view.

| We are certainly doing our part of the three R's. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle! I really have given more thought to the reduce and reuse. I've been a recycler for a long time now. I even keep jars that could be put in the recycle but I find other uses for them I have way too much stuff and really realized it when we had to move 3 time in 7 years. That's one reason I use freecycle here. Great job to all of you who took something that would have gone to the landfill and made it something that could be used. |

| I had an idea when I got started on a third old bouncy chair. After prepping it to paint, I grabbed a can of white appliance epoxy I had in the cabinet. My dad had used some on an old iron bed recently and I figured it would work on a metal chair too. I'm happy with the results. It has a rock hard finish and should be super durable (fingers crossed). The only downside is that there are so few colors. Just thought I'd pass it along. Juanita Click the image for an enlarged view.

| I cannot wait to show my DH these pictures tomorrow. We have two older medal chairs sitting on our front porch that need painted terribly. They are not nearly as in bad as shape as shirelygirlys were. U just inspired me! Also i found a cute wicker plant stand sitting on the curb in our subdivision going to the trash. I picked it up and walked home with it. Had my dog in one hand, plant stand in another. lol..We are considered to live in a upper scaled subdivision area in our small town, and most people would die if they seen me carrying that plant stand down the street..thankfully it was a nightime walk with my dog. I am really trying hard to change some of my decorating style from updated to outdated...i want to start collecting T2T type stuff and mixing and matching things throughout my home. My husband thinks i am nuts, but as i can see here, it is very rewarding to see things take on new life, and you end up with a treasure. I have never been the very crafty, but since i planted a beautiful flower garden this year for the first time ever, i now think i can do anything. I have found some treasures recently, now i just have to come up with some ideas, and get in there and do it. My DH is very talented at creating anything from nothing, but the hard part is getting him interested in my ideas. Tomorrow i am going to force him to sit in here with me at this websight and see some ideas of things we could be creating together. Thanks so much for a great sight, with great ideas and pictures. I am going to see if i can find a picture of the chairs we have that need repainted. They would be such a easy fix. Maybe tomorrow i will post a picture of my wicker plant stand and ask for some ideas. You guys are treasures yourselves.
I found a distant picture of the chairs i am talking about. I try to keep them out of my pictures. You can see the two metal chairs in the background and notice the metal table that is all rusted. Our chairs are not nearly as old as the ones u guys painted, but look at the seat of the one on the right. It is totally chipped up. The other chair is not as bad, but it wouldnt hurt to give it a overhaul either. What would u suggest using on these chairs? I love them for comfort. Would i need to scrape all the chipped paint off, or do i need to do something to the entire chairs before attempting to paint. I have no clue how to start or what to use. Should i stick with the same colors...and what do u guys suggest to spruce up that little wire table. Thanks so much for getting me motivated. Oh my gosh, it is almost 3 am and i work at 7a.m. This websight has made me loose my mind tonight. Going to be a tired girl tomorrow. I have to give up for tonight, but there is so much here that i want to see it all at once. I love this sight. So glad i was searching for what to do with my lavander plant that i have in a pot for the winter time. I did a search through google and ended up here, and never left. Crazy. Any help with my lavander in a pot for keeping it stable through the winter would also be appreciated. I think it will withstand the cold if i keep it on our screened in back porch??? Will i need to water out there in the winter time?? Click the image for an enlarged view.

| .Welcome and glad you found some inspiration here. I really enjoy re-using things and don't mind if a little work is needed. I'd rather be outdoors as inside anyway. I still haven't done the second chair. I thought I'd wait til cooler weather but since it turned cool all it's done is rain. You were asking about the color for your chairs, I wanted mine to be one of the origional colors but since I wanted to spray paint them I was pretty limited. But I'd say, just do what you want, if you want them purple then by all means paint 'em purple, or whatever color you like. Our neighborhood is a little upscale too but you know if there's something sitting out to be thrown away and someone can use it, I say way to go. I don't mind if someone can use my discards. I'd rather it be used as thrown in a landfill. Be sure and post pictures for us when you get started.

| Here's a great find I got at a local antique store for
$5, I use it in my garden a lot, didn't need to do a thing to it and it fold flat. Hold a big bag of potting soil you can move around or put a garbage bag in it for a trash can.
