Hi,
can anyone give me advice conserning my nastertiums. i had a magnificent display this year and have many many seed pods from them.
my question is: can i re-plant the seeds for next year?.
i live in England (south) in the uk. i have left the seed pods on the soil but i am not sure if i am doing the right thing.
advice greatly received.

aahh...nastutiums...the edible flower...if you want to be certain...pick up a few of the seed pods and save them for next spring. I'm not sure what your planting zone is there but I am a 5a and my grandfather never had a problem with them returning every year, but he always told me "When in doubt, save some seeds!"

Hope that helps

thanks tw. i was planning on leaving them covered with the soil. we don't have zones in england (UK) but our weather weather varies from tear to year.
one year it can be good , next year bad. but i never normally have problems growing things from seed.
so would it be ok to leave them where they are, do you think.
by the way what are zones.
many thanks.

it's a planting zone...issued by your department of agriculture...I know you have one...we had to pay attention to it when we were stationed in Germany (My father was US Army) but I believe your zone is the same as mine so you should be fine.

Thanks Trina. It is incredibly easy. I just type a few key words into the search line on google and hit enter...may take a couple tries, but can usually find what I am looking for.
