The power company came thru and trimmed this tree in my front yard. I can't cut it all the way down because it is a source of shade for my house. Any ideas for making it pretty? Or at least less sad? Had thought about hanging birdhouses down the cut side. Help!

Woah. Went a little extreme, didn't they. o.0

Birdhouses would be cute. I can't think of anything else that would help. Geez. Poor tree. :(

Yes, poor tree but its better than having no tree!! The power company gave me that option and I told them to just cut the trees... but now I have no privacy from people driving by and wish I would have just trimmed them up!
I think the birdhouse idea is a good one too.

Dont you just love it when the power company does that.. lol.. I mean I know it has to be done BUTTTTTTTTT if they would run the lines under ground then they wouldnt have to butcher the trees.. This happened to my grandmother with one of her very old HUGE oak trees.. There was one street that was near our house that was lined with Oak trees.. When the power company went thru there cutting it looked so horrible.. Some trees had the whole TOP cut off and the others the whole side and some were cut in a L shape.. lol.. I understand that it needs to be done because of storms and limbs falling on the lines, but the trees sure look so funny when the elec company does trims..
