True it is! A local brewer's beagle made a specific effort to sniff out and eat up the spent grains. The brewer and his wife started giving fido a little more than accidental drops. The hound loved it. He was going on ten years old and had bowel troubles. You guessed right...the hound got better and is still a healthy old beagle some three years later.

The brewer and his wife started a new business making dog treats for customers, then the local farmer's market and now modest local distribution. Simply stated 98% spent brewer's grain and whole wheat, powdered milk and honey as binders. The image is HEALTHY WHEAT TREATS FOR FIDO. If teased enough the brewer will eat a bite and make the old beagle beg for the rest.

His brews are gaining customers within the local gentry too. Only problem here is I can't get the spent grain for my compost pile anymore. The business has gone to the dogs. No mail order yet.
