Last week I sprayed fencelines with a glyphosate herbicide. Today the ragweed was all bright yellow. Dying? No, flowering! None of the ragweed any where else was in full bloom just the poison victims. I wonder if this trick would work on my "real" flowers? (Before it killed them)
A Boon to Blooms?
I think this is an excellent demo of plants under stress making a last ditch stand to reproduce. It is surprising that they had that chance with the Roundup though. No wonder weeds are so hard to get rid of. As far as those ragweeds are concerned, those flowers and the resulting seeds are their sole purpose in life and then they can die in peace.
I sincerely hope that they die before they manage the seed making part!
