Palmbob: Can you take a look at this picture also and tell me if it's Washingtonia robusta or another Sabal? Someone told me they were both Washingtonia's. I want to make sure and have them in the correct entry in PF.
which photo... the one above? or is there another one?
If you are referring to the other photo you added under Washingtonia, that sure looks like a Sabal as well.. you can easily tell them apart by just feeling the petioles... Washingtonias have huge hooked, often orangy and black teeth along the petioles, while a Sabal's petioles are completely toothless and smooth (but sometimes sharp as a knife).
Bob, Thank you so much! I just went out and checked and they all appear to be Sabal's, so both of my pictures at the Washingtonia entry are in error. I will have Admin. move my photo's to the correct location in PF.
