I have a 600 square foot detached garage, that my wife has had me turn part of into a pantry. Anyone have suggestions on how I can keep it above freezing this winter? she said she would be happy if the temp stayed arround 41.

Colquhoun, I know of several people that use a small wall gas heater in their garages. I think its pretty simple just get a tank and run lines through wall to heater. You can take tank to refill without getting involved with gas companys that won't fill unless you get 200 lbs or more. I'm sure they have a thermostat that will turn it off or on according to temp. set. Good Luck, hope you find the most economical solution let us know.

Have you looked into the small oil filled radiator heaters? I think they are great and dont use to much
electric, and they are safe.

There are numerous electric forced air heaters than are hard-wired into 220v. I
have some of the oil filled 110v heaters and love them for steady, safe heat. Your
degree of insulation versus you normal winter temps would be the deciding factor
on how large a heater is required. 40 to 45 degrees would not require a high
wattage heater. Most of them cannot be set that low.
