This old antique light fixture shade just called out to me to become a birdbath.
Works as well as a birdbath as it did as a light fixture shade, so don't throw it out, rebirth is just a creative thought away!

It is pretty! Is it as deep as it looks? You might want to put rocks in the bottom or something...

Yes, I admit, boo coo's here! LOL!
It's that STUFF, I'm going to make this or that or something or another out of that has for years been put on the back burner. But I've promises myself that the little projects that have been put away shall now be dealt with, bringing much joy to the heart and mind. We just don't know if tomorrow will be ours, so I'm going to start enjoying today! Who's with me?

Like your birdbath. I too have made one using a discarded light fixture and metal candle holder.

That is a Texas Confederate Rose, I started it from about a 2 foot cutting last year and it has grown to over 6 foot this first year, it is also now setting budds, can't wait for bloom time.
Thanks,
April

Thank you "Birdbath Sister" April for posting your name, makes you so much more real. I too have the confederate rose and love it in spite of it getting sooooooooooo big. The blooms are beautiful from white to pink to red. They are easy to root in water in late Fall. I cut mine back to the ground, that's when I save cuttings for anyone who wants them.

Maybe we could trade a cutting of something you might have for about a 2 foot cutting of the Texas Confederate Rose. October is about the time I took cuttings last year. They grow fast here. They also let you know when they are thirsty, The leaves will droop! Here's a picture of the blooms when I took the cuttings last October.

Great job Touble.. I just bought a very old Milk Glass light fixture for 50 cents.. :-) Had the samething in mind. Except I want to make mine hanging from the tree.. Since it was a hanging fixture. It already has the little holes from where it was hanging in a house. Just need to find a way to hang it and keep it safe.. Funny when I brought it home, DH asked what are you going to do with that old thing.. I said its a BIRD BATH can't you see it??? lol.. Sometimes it hard to live with someone who has no T2T vision.. lol..

I know what your saying, I have to hide things in a closet and thinking of installing a lock for it to, to keep DH from tossing it, and to keep my eldest daughter from running off with it to her house. She has the T2T vision. Guess she got it honestly! No fare I get it from both sides. LOL!

jsxtiger,
No adoption fee required. Letting it bloom and will pack up a cutting for you.
Buds are forming as we speak. When would be good time to send to you there. I root in water usually take about 2-3 weeks for good roots here in our climate.
