This is my first stepping stone that I have attempted. I liked it before I grouted it, but now I HATE it. I took me forever to make and I am really disappointed now. I dont really want to just throw it out but I dont really want to give it to my grandma, who I made it for, looking like this. I didnt finish grouting it cause I was just getting more mad that longer that I looked at it. So, I guess my question is...can this be saved or should I just give up on it and move on?

Are you kidding? It's beautiful , and your Grandmother will love it. Keep going and grout it.

Thanks guys. I guess I really should finish it. I just liked it so much more without the grout. Before, the wings didnt look like they blended together. Maybe I should have chosen a different view of the butterfly, now I know for the future. This is only my second mosaic so I'm still learning. Thanks for the encouragment!

What's not to like??? I think it's wonderful, and your grandma will be thrilled that you made it for her! If she isn't, you can send it to me---LOL!

I think I see what your talking about . It looks lacy and delicate to me , but a darker grout would have defined the wings more . It's beautiful as is . digger

It is a beautiful stepping stone. There is nothing wrong with it. You have to keep trying
until you get something you like. i sure would like to be your Grandma. That took a lot of
work. Please don't scrap it.

Naw , you gotta finish it and give it to her . That was made with love , and another wouldn't be the same . It suits the others , who do this all the time and if they say it's fine , then it's fine . digger

I think it's pretty as-is, but if you want the grout darker, you could stain it.

OK, here it is! I decided to grout the whole thing white. I just didnt like the grey (that was supposed to be black). I like it better now.

Also here is something little that I made while I was deciding what to do with the butterfly. It was done with the little glass globes and was so simple and fast to do. I'm going to give this one to my brother.

I love the way your butterfly turned out---I'm glad you're happier with it. And the new project is TOO cute----I'm sure your brother will treasure it...for as long as he's a Colts fan, anyway...LOL!
