Most species of Salix root very easy from cuttings.

That sounds right. Willows like water. I have gotten Salix babylonica to root just by sticking cuttings in soil and letting them sit out in the rain.

suprisingly we haven't had any rain in two weeks...I'm sorry I haven't gotten to your pics yet...I finally caught the flu that my kids have been dragging through the house for 2 months now...besides There is a vine a neighbor has on a fence, smells wonderful, but I want to know what it is, and if I can start it with cuttings too...planning next years garden for the back and we want something that will climb the garage

I'm not good with what are termed cultivars for Coleus. I have Coleus that changes right on the same plant. There are many many different colors and patterns.

Trina, I have lots of luck rooting Salix from cuttings I take in February/March when winter is almost over. I put them in a vase of water along with forsythia cuttings. The salix will soon start to leaf out and grow roots in the vase and the forsythia will bloom. When spring arrives the salix will have lots of roots and you can plant them outside. That way they will have the whole summer to get established.

Check out "Sweet Autumn" for a possible match to the neighbor's clematis that has "tons of white flowers." Prolific grower with lots of flowers usually from August until frost.
